Our client is a leading provider of corporate services across Asia-Pacific and emerging market. We are seeking an experienced and empathetic leader to head the Corporate Secretarial (CoSec) team. This role requires a strong technical expert who can mentor and coach managers while overseeing a high-volume portfolio of Singapore private companies across various industries. The incumbent will act as the key technical advisor, provide leadership support, and drive excellence in corporate governance and compliance.

The ideal candidate should be highly adaptable, proactive, and possess strong people management skills. They should be comfortable fronting tough clients, guiding the team through complex regulatory requirements, and ensuring high standards of service delivery

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team consisting of managers and associates.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, ensuring strong team engagement and continuous development.
  • Provide guidance on complex corporate secretarial matters and coach managers in handling challenging client portfolios.
  • Be a readily available leader who inspires confidence and promotes a culture of excellence.
Corporate Secretarial & Compliance Oversight
  • Ensure all client companies comply with Singapore’s statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee corporate secretarial services, including company incorporations, annual filings, board meeting coordination, and governance advisory.
  • Supervise the preparation of board packs, attendance of board meetings, and drafting of minutes for key clients.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement best practices to safeguard clients and the firm from regulatory exposure.
Client Management & Advisory
  • Act as the main technical advisor for corporate secretarial matters, providing expert guidance to both clients and internal teams.
  • Manage high-value and complex clients, including those requiring board support and governance advisory.
  • Effectively handle challenging client situations and uphold strong professional relationships.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Streamline corporate secretarial workflows, ensuring efficiency in managing high-volume portfolios.
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes and technology to enhance service delivery.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory updates and ensure the team is well-informed on industry changes.


Requirements

  • Professional Qualifications:  ICSA/CSIS qualification, or a relevant law degree.
  • Experience:  At least 8 years of corporate secretarial experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a team.
  • Technical Expertise:  Strong knowledge of Singapore corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate secretarial best practices.
  • Leadership & Coaching:  Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Client Management:  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage demanding clients and complex portfolios.
  • Resilience & Adaptability:  Ability to navigate fast-paced environments and respond effectively to evolving client and regulatory needs.
  • Technology Proficiency:  Familiarity with corporate secretarial software, MS Office Suite, and digital compliance tool
